How It All Started
BonKa Babay Solutions
Bonka Babay Solutions is an agriculture company that focuses primarily on the cultivation of groundnut and maize including agroforestry, thereby seeking to become a center of excellence in agriculture production in Sierra Leone.
Groundnut is an essential commodity that is rich in potassium, calcium, phosphorous and B vitamins which offers a host of health benefits.
Driven by the high demand of groundnut paste/ peanut butter, it is our ultimate goal to ensure that we are able to supply the demands of a highly competitive and diverse market, as we become a food sufficient country.
The company was founded by two Sierra Leoneans- Ishmael Walcott Fofanah and Fatmata Tholley in March, 2024, but officially registered and incorporated it as a private company in June 2024 in order to drive one of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda- “Zero Hunger”.
A variety of other food items shall be cultivated such as rice and cassava, and in the long term also cultivate cash crops. The company works with community farmers in the form of contract farming in their areas of operations and provide them with the necessary agriculture trainings to equip them with the skills for a bumper harvest while also contributing to community development initiatives.
As part of our strategic plan, we intend to be the leading producer of groundnut paste, maize and rice production in Sierra Leone by the year 2030.

As part of our strategic plan, it is our desired aim to become the largest producer of groundnut paste/ peanut butter in Sierra Leone by 2030. Therefore, we shall be contracting farmers to grow groundnut which provides them with market opportunities and create livelihood in our areas of operations.
